Welcome to the Imam Ali Library and Research Center

The Imam Ali Library and Research Center, a distinguished affiliate of Hartford International University, is a landmark initiative dedicated to advancing rigorous academic inquiry rooted in the Shia intellectual tradition. This center embodies a bold vision—to support a new generation of scholars committed to the pursuit of truth, justice, and spiritual insight, while fostering a deeper intra-faith understanding within the diverse landscape of Islamic thought.

Promote scholarly excellence in Islamic studies with emphasis on Ahle Bait and Shia Studies.

Support Research

Support post-doctoral and graduate-level research on topics central to Islamic intellectual, poetic, and spiritual traditions.

Islamic Heritage

Preserve and expand access to Islamic heritage through curated library collections.

Platform for Academic Dialog

Serve as a platform for academic dialogue, conferences, and collaborative research at both the local and national levels.

Library Holdings

The Library’s curated collection focuses on:

  • Shia theology, jurisprudence, and philosophy
  • Classical and contemporary works on Ahle Bait
  • Translations of literary and poetic texts illustrating the symbolic and spiritual dimensions of Muslim history
  • Islamic ethics, mysticism, and cross-sectarian scholarship

In addition to its unique print holdings in Mahopac, New York, affiliated researchers and students have full access to the extensive Hartford International University Library Catalogue and the digital archive of the Auliya Council of North America.

 

Academic Leadership

The center’s scholarly activities are led by a dedicated Post-Doctoral Fellow, contributing to the development of Shia studies within U.S. academia. Faculty and researchers collaborate across institutions to host seminars, public lectures, and academic publications.
